Oracle Exadata
Oracle Exadata ist eine für den Oracle Datenbank Betrieb konzipierte Plattform für den High-End und Midrange Bereich. Diese zeichnet sich insbesondere durch sehr hohe Leistung, Verfügbarkeit und Kosteneffizienz aus. Die Plattform ist sowohl für Online Transaktionsverarbeitung, Data Warehousing, als auch In-Memory Analysen optimiert worden und bietet neben flexiblen Scale-In und Scale-Out Möglichketen, auch die Option diese sowohl im eigenen
Rechenzentrum, als Private Cloud oder auch in der Public Cloud zu betreiben. Desweiteren bietet die Exadata Reihe die Möglichkeit diese mit anderen Produkten aus der Exa Reihe (z.B. Exalogic) hoch performant zu verbinden (Stichwort Infiniband).
Eine weitere Besonderheit der Oracle Exadata ist die Exadata System Software, welche spezielle Funktionen bietet, die es nur in dieser Baureihe gibt und dadurch eine nicht vergleichbare Performance erreicht. Hier sind unter anderem die Smart Scan Technologie, Storage Indexing und die Hybrid Columnar Compression zu nennen.
